Clement Collective is an eclectic group of creative, crafty, and community-minded people who operate a shared studio + sewing lab + audio-visual theater + yoga room + gathering space in the Inner Richmond neighborhood of San Francisco.
Click on any of the event descriptions below for more information and — if it’s close enough to the date — a link to RSVP. (Same calendar, two different views.)
Regular Events
All offered by sliding scale suggested donation. As far as food goes, we usually snack-luck, bring leftovers from home, and/or head out to get food from the neighborhood… do whatever works for you 🙂
🧵 Crafternoons
Join Evan for some creative time after you finish shopping at the farmer’s market. Come early if you want a sewing lesson!
Bring your own project, or we can hook you up with one when you get here; we’ve got all kinds of tools and materials to choose from.
😸 Co-Creative Wednesdays
Work* from your “home-away-from-home” with Benjy, Elizabeth, Evan, Tabitha, and/or whoever else shows up. Have a cup of tea and/or get crafy for an hour or three! Give us a heads up and you can stop by any time from 9:15am—5:00pm.
Better yet, meet us at 8am at All Star Donuts (901 Clement Street at 10th Ave) for Friends & Neighbors’ Walking Club; we can head back to our space together afterward ❤
*If you plan to do your actual JOB job, please plan to take work your calls elsewhere; we do our best to keep the vibe creative!
🧶 Well-Knit Community
Not just for knitters and other textile artists, you’re also welcome to come and draw, read, paint, fold paper, whatever… or just hang out with us! Please come at the beginning if you want to learn how to knit.
🎥 Cinema Club
Sometimes we screen independent, arthouse, foreign, and contemporary classics in our Studio Theater… sometimes it’s lowbrow fun times. We also make field trips to the Big Screen!
🧘♂️ Yoga
If requested in advance, we stream in Ashley Sharp’s yoga class on Tuesday evenings and/or Sunday mornings in the Yoga Room. Definitely let Elizabeth know you’re planning to attend.

🎹 Intentional Listening #2b
Intentional Listening is sonic cinema for music lovers in the age of multitasking and divided attention. We listen without conversation or devices on, for a fuller appreciation of sound as an art form.
IL#2 is much more than a playlist or a dj set. It has widely eclectic sounds in a flowing self-referential narrative with a structure closer to a psychedelic sound collage than a constellation of discrete connected works. Edited and augmented elements overlap significantly and in a variety of ways during 90 minutes of 35 songs and 100+ other sound sources. It’s a micro/macro produced studio mix that brings you on a unique sonic journey.

From the organizers: Step up and share a 5-minute story about family, Lunar New Year, or what you love about your culture. No need to sign up in advance—just come ready to speak from the heart! Every storyteller gets a lucky orange as a thank-you.

🌷 WOAPA: All In for All Fours
The first of what Elizabeth hopes will be a regular gathering of Women of a Particular Age*. Our jumping-off point will be a discussion of Miranda July’s book, All Fours. Key words: balancing creativity and family life / perimenopause / middle-aged desire and (bi)sexuality / To Blow Up or Not To Blow Up Your Life
*aka WOAPA, pronounced wah-PAH, with the same sort of exclamatory emphasis as Kapow! (Yes, I’m trying to make this a thing.) Nonbinary and trans people of a particular age are very warmly welcomed to join the conversation ❤

🎹 Intentional Listening #2
Sonic Cinema from Scott. There will be eclectic sounds in a flowing narrative like the last one, but much more interaction between elements and a wider range of tempo. Last time Scott created a path through the pieces of music as an aural constellation made of eclectic points; this time the form will be closer to a psychedelic sound collage in which works overlap more significantly and in a variety of ways.

🃏 Last Minute Board Game Night: Ruckus
Riley is moving to Florida on Thursday 😦 but not before treating us to some raucus rounds of Ruckus. This fast-paced (and pretty ridiculous) card game involves paying close attention, stealing from your neighbors, and yelling absurd phrases. Good Times!

Wingspan is a gorgeous bird-themed game that was designed and illustrated by women. The bird science is remarkably accurate! We’ve been wanting to learn how play for ages, and Dennis is going to teach us.

Snuggle with Tabitha the Studio Kitty if you need some soothing.
Or simply Do Nothing, In Real Life, With Other People.

🎃 Halloween Costume Viewing
Every year on Halloween, neighbors young and old come Trick or Treating along Clement Street, often in very creative costumes. We thought it would be fun to watch the festivities from our second-story, street-facing windows.
Pardon our dust: this will be a super low key potluck. You’re welcome to stop by en route to your main event just to say Hi and check out how things are going in the new space!
